Nova Dando talks about being a "Creative in Residence"

Girlcore's Laurelene Chambovet, otherwise known as Lolo, is the Philanthropic Manager at the swish Covent Garden member's only club The Hospital. "Ummm, what exactly does a Philanthropic Manager DO anyway?" you may be asking yourself. Well, one thing she gets to do is help find all the best creative talent in London and bring them into the Hospital Club as a Creative In Residence. When I meet Nova Dando at the peppermint green warehouse in Hackney where she lives and works, she’s just come from a meeting at the Hospital members’ club in Covent Garden. She’s a creative in residence there for 2009 and she’s totally enthused about scheme. ‘It’s great’, she says of the scheme, ‘you get advice about branding, about building a business – you get to talk to the people you don’t get to talk to when you’re at college. And I can use their facilities and their studios. They’ve got a cinema I can use if I want to make and show a video’. And, of course, The Hospital get Nova’s supercool creative input and connections. But before any of that, she’s got to make a crown. Out of gold cardboard. It’s for a shoot that’s happening tomorrow, she explains, thoughtfully looping the board into coronets as she speaks..."

Girlcore LOVES Nova Dando (well thats a bit like saying we love ourselves because Nova is Girlcore too). This is why we all got our panties in a wad over this beautiful new video, directed by Saam and styled by Nova. I'm not sure if we all love Hercules and Love Affair, do you?



The ending with all the foggy dust reminds me of The Blue Lagoon in Rejkavik. Mmmmmmm, I'd give anything to be in there RIGHT NOW.
