Girlcore Recommended Summer Reading
As mentioned in an earlier post, one of our beloved Girlcore members, Becky Mills, is headed to Peru for 2 months to apprentice with a real live shaman! We will miss her dearly. Since she'll be secluded in the jungle for all that time she asked the girls to recommend some good reading. I thought I'd post the results:

The Soul Of Money by Lynne Twist (recent, im reading it now)
The Life Of The Masters by Baird T Spalding (super old, beautiful)
Shantaram by Gregory Davis Roberts (really captivating story of a dude escaping from prison moving to India)
Letters To A Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke (my granny's fave book)

VALIS- phillip k dick
high rise or cocaine nights -- ballard
a confederancy of dunces --- Tool ( fucking hilarious )
the master and margarita (bulokov or something like that- russian)
any Borges book- short stories
The savage detectives -- bolano (chilean writer but it happens in mexico. i do recomend this for any trip in Latin America)
Special service (Pantaleon y Las visitadoras in spanish. Mario Vargas Llosa, its peruvian, it happens in the jungle).
